Abject Object Relations and Epistemic Engagement in Clinical Practice

This article engages with medical practice to develop a philosophically informed understanding of epistemic engagement in medicine, and object relations more broadly. I take my point departure the clinical encounter draw on French psychoanalytical theory expand taxonomy already proposed by Karin Knorr-Cetina. In so doing, argue for addition an abject-type relation; that is, objects transgress frameworks disrupt further investigation, hence preventing dynamic negatively shaping our pathways. is primarily theoretical, although partly grounded qualitative fieldwork.
